Manger Musikklag (MML) søkjer ny fast dirigent/band trainer frå hausten 2024. MML fylte 100 år i 2022 og er eit korps som heldt høgt nasjonalt og internasjonalt nivå. Laget har ein tydeleg profil som nyskapande og har eit stort fokus på samtidsmusikk og unge, lovande komponistar. Gjennom BrassWind-festivalen har me gjeve mange musikantar og komponistar ein scene å stå på med sin musikk.
Som fast dirigent/band trainer vil du jobbe tett på laget gjennom heile sesongen. Arbeidsoppgåvene vil vere alt frå å dirigere konsertar til å syte for å halde eit høgt musikalsk nivå gjennom heile året. Du vil jobbe mykje med å byggje korpset, i tillegg til at du må ha eit tett samarbeid med Allan Withington, vår kunstnarlege leiar, fram mot store konsertar og konkurransar.
Me ser etter ein person som er dedikert, nyskapande og som set store mål for seg sjølv og laget. Personen som tek over som fast dirigent/band trainer må kunne utvikle dei grunnleggjande ferdigheitene til korpset, fremje den nyskapande profilen som MML har og vere aktiv i å drive korpset fram.

Førebu korpset til ulike prosjekt gjennom året
Arbeide målretta med å halde det musikalske nivået oppe og vidareutvikle nivået
Jobbe tett med kunstnarlege leiar, Allan Withington, fram mot store konsertar og konkurransar
Jobbe for å fremje den nyskapande og nytenkande profilen til korpset

Manger Musikklag are looking for a new resident conductor from Autumn 2024. Manger Musikklag (MML) are inviting applications for a resident conductor/band trainer from Autumn 2024. MML celebrated our 100 year jubilee in 2022 and we are a band that hold ourselves to a high standard both nationally and internationally. We have forged ourselves a profile as innovative and forward-thinking, and are known for our work with contemporary music and for giving up and coming composers a voice. Through our “BrassWind” festival, we have given many musicians and composers a platform to have their music heard.
As resident conductor/band trainer you will work closely with the band throughout the year. Responsibilities will vary from conducting concerts to ensuring that we hold ourselves to the highest musical standards throughout the whole year. You will work hard to build and improve the band and will also have a close working relationship with Allan Withington, our artistic director, towards large concerts and competitions.
We are looking for someone who is dedicated, innovative, and who sets the bar high for both themselves and for the ensemble. The person who takes over as resident conductor/band trainer must be able to develop the fundamental skillsets of the band, to promote the innovative profile that MML has, and be proactive in driving the band forward.
Responsibilities:
To prepare the band for varied projects throughout the year
To work purposefully towards maintaining and increasing the high level of the band.
To work closely with artistic director, Allan Withington towards large concerts and competitions
To work to promote the innovative and forward-thinking profile of the band
